Khutbah Translation FAQ

Is there an app that translates Friday sermons in real time?

Yes. RecitID's Live Khutbah mode records Arabic sermons in real time, transcribes them using AI, and translates into 52 languages so you can follow along at the mosque. Our guide to choosing a khutbah translation app covers what to look for.

How can I understand the khutbah if I don't speak Arabic?

Open RecitID's Live mode, select your language, and tap record when the imam starts speaking. You'll see the translation appear in real time on your phone screen.

Does it work in noisy mosque environments?

RecitID works best when you can clearly hear the speaker. Sitting closer to the imam or being in a quieter section helps improve transcription accuracy.

Can I save the translation to read later?

Yes. All Live sessions are automatically saved with the full Arabic transcript and translation. You can review, share, or delete them anytime.

Can I use it for the Jummah khutbah?

Yes. The Jummah khutbah is what Live mode was built for: open RecitID at Friday prayer, choose your language and tap record when the imam begins. You'll see the Arabic and the translation line by line, and verses he recites are shown with their reference.

Can I translate the Makkah or Madinah khutbah live?

Yes. Play the Jummah khutbah from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah or Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah on a TV or online livestream, open Live mode and tap record. RecitID translates the khutbah as it is delivered into any of 52 languages, so you can follow the Haram khutbah from home.

Does it only work for khutbahs?

No. Live mode works for any Arabic speech including Islamic lectures, classes, halaqas, du'a, and more.
