How we write about the Quran, its reciters and our app, and how to tell us when we get something wrong.

Who writes this site

RecitID is made by Vikolo Dynamics Ltd, a technology company in the United Kingdom. The articles, guides, reciter profiles and help pages on recitid.ai are written and reviewed by the RecitID team. Articles are credited to “RecitID Team” because they are written and checked as a team, not by one named author.

How we source facts about reciters

  • Every biographical fact on a reciter profile (names, dates, places, mosque roles) comes from a source we can link to, such as official mosque or government pages, established news outlets, university pages or encyclopaedias. Each profile lists its sources.
  • We check sources in English and Arabic. Each fact is checked twice, by two independent passes, before it is published.
  • When sources disagree, we leave the fact out or state it neutrally. We never guess a date, a place or a nationality. If we cannot source a nationality, we leave it blank.
  • We only write about a reciter's recitation and public religious role. Profiles do not cover private or political matters.
  • We do not publish a profile until there is enough verified information to make it useful. Some reciters in the app therefore appear on our reciters page without a profile.

Opinion is marked as opinion

Sections such as “How to recognise this voice” are our own listening notes, written from the recitations in RecitID. They describe style and sound, not facts about the person, and they are written respectfully.

The Quran and religious questions

RecitID does not issue fatwas or religious rulings. When the app explains a verse, the explanation is grounded in classical tafsir (Tafsir al-Jalalayn), and we point readers to qualified scholars for questions of practice. Pages about the app describe what it actually does today. Features, limits and prices are checked against the current app before we publish them.

Reviews, dates and corrections

  • Articles, guides and reciter profiles show the date they were last updated. Reciter profiles are re-checked when new sources appear.
  • If you find an error, email support@recitid.ai with the page link and, if you can, a source. We check every report, and when a correction is confirmed we update the page and its date.
  • Reciters, their families and their representatives can also contact us to correct or update a profile.
