How do I change the reciter?

Settings › Reciter, then pick your preferred voice. The reciter you choose becomes your default for playing surahs and ayahs across the app.

Step by step:

1. On Home, tap your profile picture (or initial) at the top right to open Settings.
2. Under "Audio & Recitation", tap "Reciter".
3. On the "Reciters" screen, browse the featured list or tap "Show All" to see every reciter available for playback. You can search by name or nationality, or filter by style, for example Haramain, Tajweed or Mujawwad.
4. Tap a reciter to open their profile.
5. Tap "Set as Default Reciter" on iPhone, or "Set as Default" on Android. On iPhone the button then reads "Default Reciter".

To switch reciter just for what's playing now, open the full player by tapping the MiniPlayer and use its reciter option. This is handy for comparing two voices on the same surah.

After a detection, "Listen to Recitation" plays the surah in the voice of the reciter RecitID identified, if their audio is available. Otherwise it uses your default reciter.

Good to know: reciters marked "Detection only — not available for playback" can be recognised by voice but not played, so they can't be set as your default. Changing your reciter doesn't affect detection; verse detection and reciter identification work the same whichever reciter you've chosen.
