How many reciters are available?

RecitID identifies 300+ reciters by voice and offers 130+ reciters for in-app audio playback, including imams of the Haramain. The playback catalog grows regularly.

The two numbers are different because identifying a voice and playing a recitation are separate. To play a reciter, RecitID needs their full recitation available to stream. Some reciters can be recognised from their voice, but their audio can't be played in the app. Those show "Audio unavailable" on a result, or "Detection only — not available for playback" on their profile.

To browse the reciters:

1. On Home, tap your profile picture to open Settings.
2. Under "Audio & Recitation", tap "Reciter".
3. The "Reciters" screen opens with a featured list. Tap "Show All" to see every reciter you can play.
4. Search by name or nationality, or use the filters: Haramain, Emotional, Tajweed, Warsh, Fast, Deep Voice, Soft Voice and Mujawwad. iPhone also has Qalun and Al-Bazzi filters.

Rare narrations other than Hafs, such as Warsh, Qalun and Al-Bazzi, are labelled clearly so you know what you're hearing.

Good to know: all reciters are available on every plan, including Free; there's no extra charge for any voice. Audio is streamed, so playback needs an internet connection. Surahs you've played may be kept in a temporary cache on your phone.
