Rabbana duas from the Quran, with Arabic and meaning

"Rabbana" means "our Lord". Many duas in the Quran call on Allah with it, said by prophets, by the believers, and by the angels. Below are 40 of them, each in Arabic with transliteration, the Saheeh International translation, the ayah reference, and who said it.

The word appears 72 times in the Quran, across 64 ayat. Some of those ayat continue a dua begun in the ayah before, and a few are not duas. The 40 here are the separate duas; where a dua runs on into the next ayah, it is shown in full.

Sources and method

Each dua on this page is copied from its source, not rewritten: the Quran from quran.com, and hadith from the collections named under each dua, checked on sunnah.com. Where a hadith grading is given, it is the grading of the scholar named next to it, not our own. Repetition counts appear only where the narration states them.

Each item is labelled as Quranic, an authentic Prophetic dua, a dua whose grading scholars dispute, a general dua, or popular wording with no established Prophetic source. Sources were last checked on 2026-10-07. Read our editorial standards, and if you find an error, please tell us.

Frequently asked

How many Rabbana duas are in the Quran?

The word "rabbana" appears 72 times in the Quran, in 64 ayat. Counts of "Rabbana duas" vary because some ayat continue a dua from the ayah before and a few are not duas. This page lists 40 separate duas.

What does Rabbana mean?

"Our Lord". "Rabb" is Lord, and "-na" is "our". A dua said by one person often uses "Rabbi" (my Lord) instead.

Which Rabbana dua is said most often?

Can I say these duas in my own prayers?

Yes. These are duas, and you can call on Allah with them at any time. If you want to know whether to say a Quranic dua inside a particular part of the prayer, ask a scholar you trust.
