Keep listening. Log every verse.
Auto-Detect runs identification in short listening cycles instead of a one-off tap. Useful during a long Quran session, a lecture, or Taraweeh — every recitation it picks up is logged with the surah, verse, reciter, and timestamp.
How it works
01
Turn it on
Enable Auto-Detect from the detection screen. A listening indicator appears in the nav.
02
Leave it running
Short listening cycles run in the background. Each cycle is processed and discarded in real time.
03
Review the log
Every successful match is saved to the session log — surah, verse, reciter, confidence, timestamp. Tap any entry to open the full verse.
When it helps
- Long listening sessions — a full juz, a lecture, or a live broadcast — where you'd otherwise tap Detect over and over.
- Taraweeh and Qiyam nights, where the reciter moves through many passages.
- Driving with Quran on the car speakers — glance at the log later instead of tapping during the drive.
- Study sessions where you want a record of every verse heard, with reciter attribution.
- Audio in another language or playlist — Auto-Detect only logs successful Quran matches and stays quiet otherwise.
- Each successful match counts against your daily surah-detection limit.
FAQ
How is Auto-Detect different from a manual tap?
Manual detection captures one clip when you tap. Auto-Detect keeps listening in cycles and logs every recitation it picks up, so you don't have to tap every time the audio changes.
Does it drain the battery?
Auto-Detect uses short listening cycles and pauses when the microphone is idle. Battery impact is modest for a typical session — comparable to a music app running in the background — but it's not designed to run 24/7.
Does it record or store audio?
No. Each cycle is processed in real time and discarded. Only the identification result (surah, verse, reciter, confidence, timestamp) is saved to your session log.
Does it work in the background?
Auto-Detect keeps running while RecitID is the active app and during short backgrounding, subject to iOS and Android audio-permission rules. For long sessions, keep the app on screen.
What does each match count as?
Every successful match counts against your daily surah-detection limit. Free: 7/day. Monthly Pro: 50/day. Annual Pro+: 50/day.
Try it
Download RecitID and turn Auto-Detect on during your next listening session.
