Which reciters can RecitID identify?

Surah and verse detection works on any reciter: it transcribes the Arabic and matches it against the Quran, so it doesn't need the voice to be in a catalog. Separately, RecitID runs voice identification against a 300+ reciter library and returns the reciter's name alongside the match when the voice is recognised.

How the reciter appears on your result:

1. While the voice check runs, the reciter card shows "Analyzing reciter…".
2. When a voice is recognised, you'll see the reciter's photo or initials, their name and a confidence label: "High confidence", "Likely match" or "Possible match".
3. Other close voices are listed under "Other Possible Matches".
4. If no voice is close enough, the card says "No reliable reciter match" with "Try a clearer or longer recording". RecitID would rather say this than guess.

Not every recognised reciter can be played in the app. The voice library (300+) is larger than the playback catalogue (130+). A reciter who can be identified but not played shows "Audio unavailable".

If RecitID named the wrong reciter, or none:

1. On iPhone, tap "Not them? Suggest the correct reciter", or "Know the reciter? Suggest it" when no one was named. On Android, tap "Suggest reciter". This option isn't shown when the match is marked "High confidence".
2. Type the name and tap "Suggest". You need to be signed in ("Sign in to suggest a reciter").

Good to know: on the free plan, reciter identification is counted separately from detection, with 30 a day. For the best voice match, let detection run for the full 15 seconds; a single voice with little background music or crowd noise is identified most reliably.
