What reading modes are available?

Three modes: Verse-by-Verse with optional translation and transliteration; Mushaf, the authentic 604-page layout in the King Fahd Complex (KFGQPC) Uthmani font with optional Tajweed colour-coding, matching the printed Madinah Mushaf; and Compact, a condensed view for quick reading.

In the app the three layouts are described as:

1. Verse by Verse: "Each ayah with its translation". Each ayah sits on its own card, with play, bookmark and Ask AI buttons.
2. Mushaf: "The printed Madinah page · 604 pages". Swipe or use the arrows to turn pages, and tap an ayah for Bookmark, Copy, Play and Ask AI.
3. Compact: "Ayahs flow together, without cards".

To switch layout:

1. Open the Quran tab and choose a surah.
2. Tap the Aa button ("Reading options") in the top bar.
3. Under "Layout", pick Verse by Verse, Mushaf or Compact. The reader changes straight away.

You can also change it in Settings › Reading › "Reading options". The first time you open the reader, RecitID asks "How would you like to read?". You can change this anytime.

To turn on Tajweed colours:

1. In the Mushaf layout, open "Reading options" and turn on "Tajweed" ("Color-coded recitation rules embedded in the font"). On Android the switch is called "Tajweed Colors".
2. Or, on iPhone, go to Settings › Reading › "Mushaf Style" and choose Tajweed instead of Plain. On Android, turn on "Tajweed Colors" in Settings › Reading.
3. The Tajweed font is a one-time download of about 160 MB, and works in the Mushaf layout only.

Translation and transliteration have their own switches in "Reading options" and in Settings › Reading. In the Mushaf layout they appear in the card that opens when you tap an ayah. "Text size" is in the same sheet.
