What's the Ramadan boost?

During Ramadan the Annual Pro live translation allowance rises from 60 hours a year to 70, giving you 10 extra hours for taraweeh, khutbahs and lectures. You don't need to do anything: it applies automatically.

How it works:

1. The boost is for Annual Pro subscribers. Monthly Pro keeps its 5 hours a month, and the free khutbah stays at 45 minutes.
2. It adds 10 hours to your yearly Live allowance, taking it from 60 to 70 hours.
3. RecitID works out the Ramadan dates on its server using the Umm al-Qura calendar, with a day of margin either side so a different moon-sighting date doesn't cut you short.
4. You don't need to update the app or tap anything. The extra time shows up in the time-left figure on the Live screen (for example "12h 30m left") during Ramadan.

Making the most of it:

1. Set your Live language before taraweeh: tap the language pill on the Live tab and choose from 52 languages.
2. Turn on a Focus (on Android, Do Not Disturb) so calls don't interrupt the session.
3. Sit close to the imam with your phone screen up. The screen stays on while Live is recording.
4. When the imam recites, RecitID shows each verse it recognises with a green "Quran" badge and the scholarly translation.

Good to know: if you run out of Live time, Annual Pro subscribers can buy 5 extra hours from the limit card at any time of year.
