What does the confidence label mean?

RecitID tells you how sure it is in plain language rather than a percentage. High confidence means the match is strong and you can rely on it. Likely match means it is probably right but the audio was not perfect. Possible match is a best guess worth checking. When nothing clears the bar, RecitID says so instead of naming a reciter it is not sure about.

Where you'll see the label: on the reciter card of a detection result, next to the reciter's name. The label describes the voice match, meaning who is reciting. The surah and verse are only shown when the text match is strong enough, so a verse result has no separate label.

What each label means in practice:

1. "High confidence": the voice clearly matched one reciter, well ahead of the next closest voice.
2. "Likely match": a good match, but less clear-cut than High confidence. Usually right, but worth a quick listen.
3. "Possible match": the closest voice, but the match is weak or other voices were close. RecitID adds "Similar voices detected", and you can compare the names under "Other Possible Matches".
4. "No reliable reciter match": no voice was close enough, so no name is given. RecitID suggests "Try a clearer or longer recording".

In your detection history, a reciter below High confidence is shown as "Possible reciter: [name]".

If the label seems wrong:

1. For a High confidence or Likely match, tap "Listen to Recitation" to hear that reciter and compare. For a Possible match the button plays your own selected reciter, so tap the reciter's name to open their profile instead.
2. Below High confidence, tap "Not them? Suggest the correct reciter" on iPhone or "Suggest reciter" on Android. You need to be signed in. Suggestions help improve recognition.
3. Try again with a longer, clearer clip. Background music, crowd noise and echo lower confidence.

The labels are the same on iPhone and Android.
