Sheikh Badr Al-Turki بدر التركي

Sheikh Badr Al-Turki (b. 1984, Buraydah) is a Saudi Quran reciter and an imam of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, appointed in October 2024. He previously served as imam and khatib of mosques in Buraydah and of the Mosque of the Mother of Prince Bandar bin Abdulaziz (جامع والدة الأمير بندر بن عبد العزيز) in Riyadh (2018–2024).

Badr Al-Turki memorised the Quran at a young age in Buraydah and completed his intermediate and secondary studies at the Scientific Institute there between 1417 and 1423 AH (c. 1996–2003). He earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Da'wah at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in 1433 AH (2011/12) and a master's degree from the Higher Institute for Da'wah and Hisbah in 1442 AH (2020/21). He holds an ijazah in the ten qira'at.

In Buraydah he was muezzin and then imam of the Sheikh Saleh Al-Bulaihi Mosque, and later imam of the Umar bin Abdulaziz Mosque, where he was also khatib from 1431 to 1436 AH. He worked at Qassim University from 1431 to 1439 AH (c. 2010–2018). He received the King Abdulaziz International Quran Competition award in 2014 and the Dubai International Holy Quran Award in 2015, and in 1441 AH (2019/20) he recorded a complete khatma for Quran Radio under the supervision of Sheikh Ahmad Khalil Shaheen. By March 2025 he was also supervising the religious-awareness programme of the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Two Holy Mosques.
