Biography

Sheikh Khalifa Al-Tunaiji is an Emirati Quran reciter from Al Dhaid, Sharjah, who received ijazah in Hafs an Asim from Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Akhdar of the Prophet's Mosque. A civil engineer by profession, he has judged the Dubai International Holy Quran Award and other competitions.

By 2022 Dr. Khalifa Al-Tunaiji was president of the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy, presenting ijazah certificates to its graduating reciters, and he was still in that post in May 2025, when he opened an international academic symposium organised by the academy.

How to recognise Sheikh Khalifa Al-Tunaiji's voice

Two things tend to place Khalifa's voice: an emotive delivery that lingers on verses of mercy and warning; and a soft, unhurried pace that suits long listening. That is our own listening note to help you place the voice, not a sourced biographical claim.

Identify Khalifa Al-Tunaiji by voice

If you heard this voice at the masjid, in a video or on someone's phone and weren't sure it was Khalifa Al-Tunaiji, open RecitID and tap Detect. It names the reciter and the exact ayah from a few seconds of audio.
