Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi محمد صديق المنشاوي

Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi (1920–1969) was an Egyptian Quran reciter from Sohag, known as "the weeping reciter" (al-qāriʾ al-bākī). He recorded both a complete murattal Quran and mujawwad recitations for Egyptian radio; this is his murattal recording.

He came from a family of reciters: his father, Siddiq Al-Minshawi, was himself a well-known reciter, and his grandfather Tayib was also a Quran man. In a step without precedent at the time, Egyptian radio came to him to record his recitation rather than requiring him to sit its test, after the Quran sheikhs of the day said it would be improper to examine him.

He often recited in the Nahawand maqam. He recited at Al-Aqsa Mosque and in Kuwait and Syria, and travelled on invitations to recite in countries including Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Libya. He died on 20 June 1969.
