Biography

Sheikh Abdullah Basfar (b. 1961, Jeddah) is a Saudi Quran reciter and scholar. He was formerly imam and khatib of the Mansour Al-Shuaibi Mosque in Jeddah and a faculty member at King Abdulaziz University. He holds an ijazah in Hafs an Asim and has recorded the complete Quran in that narration.

Basfar also served as secretary-general of the International Organization for the Memorization of the Holy Quran, a body affiliated with the Muslim World League, and was described in that role in Saudi and Arab press reports in 2010 and 2015.
