Smart Scanner
Point the camera at Arabic text — verses, hadith, du'a, dhikr.
What is the Smart Scanner?
Point your camera at any Arabic Islamic text — a Quran page, a hadith book, a du'a card, a poster — and RecitID identifies what it is and returns translation, tafsir, and context. You can also upload a photo from your library or paste Arabic text. Available on Monthly Pro and Annual Pro+.
How do I use the Scanner?
Tap the camera icon on the right of the tab bar. Aim at the text and tap the shutter. RecitID reads the Arabic, identifies what it is (Quran, hadith, du'a, dhikr, or general Islamic text), and returns a result card with translation, tafsir, and context. You can also tap the gallery icon to upload a photo, or the paste pill to paste Arabic text.
What can the Scanner recognize?
Five types of content — Quran verses (with full tafsir, translation, surah context, related verses), hadith (with narrator, grade, source, full text, explanation), du'a (with transliteration, translation, context, when to recite), dhikr (with meaning, virtues, count), and general Islamic text (OCR'd Arabic, translation, source where identifiable).
How accurate is the Scanner?
Very accurate on clear printed Arabic. Accuracy depends on lighting, text clarity, camera focus, and — for handwriting — the writer's clarity. For best results, use good lighting, hold the camera steady, fill most of the frame with the text, and tap to focus.
What if the Scanner gets something wrong?
Tap 'Fix Issue' on the result card. You can edit the recognised Arabic to correct OCR mistakes and re-analyse to get a corrected result. Corrections also help us improve the Scanner over time.
Can I scan handwriting?
The Scanner is optimised for printed Arabic but often reads clear handwriting. If recognition is off, use the paste-text option to enter the Arabic manually and still get the full result card.
How many scans do I get?
Free: 3 scans per day. Monthly Pro: 10 per day. Annual Pro+: 12 per day. Limits reset at midnight UTC.
