Biography

Sheikh Muhammad Ayyub (1952–2016) was a Saudi scholar born in Makkah who served as an imam of the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah from 1990 to 1997 and again from 2015. He held a doctorate from the Islamic University of Madinah and died on 16 April 2016.

Muhammad Ayyub memorised the Quran in 1385 AH (1965/66) at a mosque circle of the Quran memorisation society in Makkah.

He served on the scientific committee of the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran. The King Fahd Complex recorded the complete Quran in his voice, and Al-Riyadh reported in 2016 that it is broadcast on Quran Radio; he also made Quran recordings for radio and television. After his death he was prayed over at the Prophet's Mosque and buried in Al-Baqi cemetery in Madinah.
